The use of lethal force belongs in a museum. In an enlightened age, we should use non-lethal force to subdue a suspect and bring them to trial.
It’s all about due process.
Shooting someone is capital punishment without a trial, similar to hanging a horse thief on the spot in the 1800s or stoning kids to death for blasphemy in ancient times. In most cases capital punishment isn’t appropriate for the grievance committed — this is why due process is so important.
